The Toaster
People have toast bread for thousands
of years. Hundreds years ago, people have made toast as a way of prolonging the
life of bread, also to made its taste better. Before there were electric
toasters, people toast bread on open fires. But with this method the bread
sometimes got burnt. Step by step, toasters were changed and in 1893, an Englishman
called Rookes Evelyn Bell Crompton invented the electric toaster. This only
toasted one side of the bread. Eventually this toaster was remodelled and
finally Peter Rayburn invented the one that toasted both sides of the bread.
John Lackstone in help with Rayburn created many different designs for those
toasters to make them more beautiful at the sight.
